Spreadrite began when two college classmates — one managing major paving projects and the other engineering advanced equipment systems — saw an opportunity to improve how work gets done in the field. After years of gaining experience across construction management, bidding, and machine automation, we reunited to build a company that blends deep industry knowledge with technical innovation. Our mission is simple: create tools that make real work easier, safer, and more efficient.

Benjamin Diersen, Founder
Ben is an accomplished Embedded Systems Engineer recognized for crafting a transformative cross-product navigation system at Vermeer Corporation in Pella, Iowa. With a background in mechanical engineering, Ben seamlessly blended hardware and software expertise to create a unified interface for diverse equipment lines. This innovation streamlined operations, enhanced user experiences, and earned industry acclaim. A dedicated problem solver, Ben continues to drive technological advancements, leaving an enduring impact on industrial efficiency and user-centric design.
Nicholas Degen, Founder
Nick is currently a Project Manager at Western Construction, Inc. in Rapid City, South Dakota and is in his fifth year with the company. He has overseen multiple South Dakota Department of Transportation projects totaling several million dollars as well as City and County projects with an upcoming Federal DOT project. He has assisted on multiple mainline asphalt paving projects and has extensive connections within the construction industry around South Dakota.
